HTC VIVE has announced the Ultimate Tracker, a revolutionary stand-alone tracking device. This new device offers 6-degree-of-freedom (6DoF) tracking accuracy as well as up to 7 hours of battery life, exceptional versatility and multi-device compatibility.

Weighing just 94 grams, it can be attached to any part of the body and is easy to mount.

Exceptional multi-point body tracking

This VIVE Ultimate Tracker accessory with wireless USB-C dongle enables the simultaneous use of five trackers per virtual reality headset. This feature enables exceptional multi-point full-body tracking. Equipped with two wide-angle cameras, the tracker accurately tracks its own position in 3D space, making it currently compatible with the standalone Vive Focus 3 and Vive XR Elite headsets, with other VR headsets and VR/PCs to follow in the future.

To meet diverse needs, the VIVE Ultimate Tracker is versatile for different uses. It comes with a standard 1/4"-20 UNC bracket, so you can attach it to a variety of objects. What's more, it features a pogo pin (Universal support) interface for customized input. These features open the door to many uses, including motion capture for film and games, industry-specific objects for training and many other uses.

Customization of support and use

Available in three packages

Depending on your needs, you can choose between the Ultimate Tracker, the USB-C dongle or the 3+1 Ultimate Trackers and USB-C dongle pack. The dongle picks up the signal from the trackers and, when connected to your VR headset, performs the tracking. With a single dongle, you can connect up to five ultimate trackers for total motion tracking.
